Jonathan Chapman talks

December 7, 2019 | 4 PM to 6 PM

To mark the publication of his new book “Asymmetrical”, Jonathan Chapman will be giving a talk on the question “What do we really see when we look in the mirror?”
Are we just a collection of molecules. Are we really intelligent beings or is this just an illusion. On the other hand, if it is not an illusion, what does that mean for the causal explanations of modern science and the way in which we understand the natural world.
After postgraduate study in philosophy at the London School of Economics, Jonathan pursued a career in software development in the investment banking sector. He seeks to apply the techniques of conceptual modelling used by software engineers to philosophical problems.
After the talk you are invited to continue the discussion over aperitifs and canapés.
RSVP until November 30.
