President : Ms. Haryany Binti Mohamad
She started off her career as a graphic designer in 1996, before joining the Penang State Museum & Art Gallery where she was appointed as Senior Curator and Director in 2006. Haryany curated visual art and the museum’s collection exhibitions. In 2018, she was selected by Penang State Government & The French Embassy Kuala Lumpur as the pioneer candidate for the three-month Fellowship Cultural Exchange and Artist in Residence in France. She was appointed as AFP President in June 2018.

Vice-President : Mr Luca Griseri
Vice-President since July 2021. During his career in marketing Luca held senior positions in London, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. He led national and regional teams and was responsible for P&L management, growth strategies, cost-optimisation strategies and management of key accounts (including MNCs and regional GLCs). He has been based in Penang since early 2019.

Treasurer : Ms. Lee Laine
Lee Laine has been a part of Alliance Francaise de Penang for over 35 years. She loves the French culture and is now very happy to be part of the team.

Mr Joël Lim Du Bois
Of mixed Belgian and Malaysian heritage and raised in the UK, Joel has spent his life communicating between different cultures. With an academic background in European languages and literature at Oxford and Cambridge, he consults to global brands on intercultural communication from Latin America and the US to Europe and Southeast Asia. After several years in Brazil, he has now returned to his roots at the cultural crossroads of Penang.

Mrs Anne-Marie Francheteau
Born and raised in France, Anne-Marie studied and worked in London for 8 years before settling in Strasbourg, France, where she worked in the administration department of a large company. Her main interests are languages, literature and the art in all its forms. After retiring, she moved to Penang in 2015 where she enjoys hiking. strolling the streets of Georgetown and meeting people of various origins. She was elected as a committee member of AFP in July 2020.

Ms. Hui Ying Mak
A long time member of the Alliance Française, Hui Ying has been deeply involved in the Penang Art’s Scene as a pianist, singer and teacher.
She hopes that her skills would bring benefits to the Alliance Française and continue to establish it as a vibrant cultural hub.
